Rob van der Meij

Rob van der Meij is Managing Partner at Capricorn Partners, responsible for the Cleantech venture capital activities. The first 20 years of his career he worked in business management positions with Akzo Nobel and Shell Chemicals, as well as strategy consulting at Gemini Consulting. In 2008, he became an entrepreneur as the founder and CEO of KiOR in the United States. After that, he has worked as founder and as CEO for several other start-ups in chemicals and water technology. He loves technology innovations and invests in start-ups, both privately and as a partner at Capricorn Partners. He currently serves on the board of several start-ups in the EU, UK, and the US.

Rob has a master’s degree in chemical engineering at the University of Delft, did the business administration program at the Amsterdam School of Finance, and he has completed the New Board Program at Nyenrode Business University.
